Sacred Scriptorium is built so that we know nothing about you.
What we collect
Nothing. Sacred Scriptorium has no accounts, no sign-up, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party services. We operate no servers of our own and receive no information about you or your use of the app.
Your translations, notes, and progress
Everything you create in the app — your verse translations, chapter notes, vocabulary progress, streaks, and settings — is stored on your device. If you are signed in to iCloud, this data also syncs through your personal, private iCloud database (Apple CloudKit) so it follows you across your own devices. That database belongs to your Apple account; it is end-to-end governed by Apple’s iCloud terms and privacy policy, and it is technically inaccessible to us. We cannot read, access, or recover your translations — they are yours alone.
If you are not signed in to iCloud, the app works fully offline and your data stays only on your device.
Content downloads
The app’s biblical texts are bundled with the app or downloaded from a public, read-only Apple CloudKit database (for example, additional Hebrew Bible books). These downloads require no account and carry no personal information beyond the standard network and service data Apple processes to operate iCloud.
Purchases
Sacred Scriptorium offers one optional in-app purchase, Scriptorium Pro — a one-time unlock, not a subscription. The purchase is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store, under Apple’s privacy policy. We never see your name, payment details, or purchase history; the app checks your unlock on-device through Apple’s StoreKit, and no purchase information is sent to us (we operate no servers). The unlock is tied to your App Store account, so it follows you to your other devices and survives reinstalls — “Restore Purchases” in the app’s Settings re-applies it.
Data deletion
Your data lives in your device storage and your iCloud account. Deleting the app removes the local data; your iCloud copy can be removed via Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage, or by deleting the app’s data from iCloud on any of your devices.
Children
The app collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new date. Since the app collects nothing, any change would only make this page more specific, never less protective.
