Plates on Plates is an iOS fitness tracking app developed by Steven Hovater. This policy describes how the app handles your information. The short version: the developer does not collect, transmit, sell, or otherwise see any of your data.
What the app stores
When you use Plates on Plates, the app creates records on your device for the things you log:
• Lifting data: workout sessions, exercises, sets, reps, weights, notes, and favorites
• Eating data: logged plates, portion sizes, macro estimates, time of day, and notes
• App state: your preferences, custom exercises you create, and saved workout templates
All of this is stored locally on your iPhone or iPad using Apple’s SwiftData framework.
iCloud sync
If you are signed in to iCloud and have iCloud Drive enabled, the app uses Apple’s CloudKit service to sync your data across your own Apple devices. This sync is handled entirely by Apple:
• Your data is stored in your private iCloud container, not on any server operated by the developer.
• The developer has no access to the data synced via CloudKit and cannot view, export, or modify it.
• Apple’s privacy practices for iCloud apply. See Apple’s Privacy Policy for details.
You can disable iCloud sync at any time in the iOS Settings app under your Apple ID → iCloud → Apps Using iCloud.
What the app does not do
Plates on Plates does not:
• Collect, transmit, or store your data on any server operated by the developer
• Include any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs
• Create user accounts or require an email address
• Read or write data to any cloud service other than your own iCloud account
• Share your data with anyone
The app contains no networking code other than what is required for iCloud sync and StoreKit (below).
Subscriptions and purchases
Plates on Plates offers optional auto-renewing subscriptions and a one-time lifetime purchase through Apple’s StoreKit. Payment processing, receipts, billing, and subscription management are handled entirely by Apple and the App Store. The developer receives only the entitlement information needed to unlock Pro features on your device — no payment method, name, address, or other personal information.
Apple’s handling of purchase data is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Children
Plates on Plates is a general-audience fitness tracking app and is not directed at children under 13. The app does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
Changes to this policy
If this policy is updated, the new version will be posted at the same URL with a revised “Last updated” date.
