Ministry Goals App Privacy Policy

Effective: April 29, 2026

Ministry Goals (“the app”) is built by Steven Hovater. This policy explains what data the app handles, where it goes, and what choices you have. The short version: the app is designed so your goals stay yours. We don’t have a server, we don’t run analytics, we don’t track you, and we don’t sell anything to anyone.

What the app stores

The app records the goals, initiatives, activities, templates, metrics, reminders, and preferences you create. All of this is stored in two places:

  1. On your device. Ministry Goals saves your data locally so it works offline.
  2. In your iCloud account, if you have iCloud enabled on your device. Apple’s CloudKit syncs your data between your iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch using your private iCloud database. Steven Hovater never receives or has access to any of this data — Apple does not share private CloudKit data with developers. If you sign out of iCloud or disable iCloud for Ministry Goals, syncing stops.

We do not maintain any server that holds your goal data.

What the app does not collect

  • We do not use analytics, telemetry, crash reporting SDKs, or any third-party tracker.
  • We do not collect your name, email, location, contacts, photos, microphone, camera, or device identifiers.
  • We do not have user accounts, passwords, or sign-in.
  • We do not track you across other apps or websites. We do not sell or share data with advertisers or data brokers.

Reminders and notifications

If you enable goal reminders or streak-at-risk alerts, the app schedules local notifications using Apple’s UserNotifications framework. These notifications are generated entirely on your device. Nothing is sent to a server.

Purchases

Ministry Goals offers an optional one-time “Lifetime Unlock” purchase and an optional annual “Premium” subscription. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple — not Ministry Goals — handles your payment information, billing, and receipts. The app receives only a signed entitlement from Apple confirming whether you’re a paid customer. Customers who downloaded version 1.3 or earlier of the app are automatically granted lifetime access at no charge.

You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in your Apple ID account settings: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on iOS, or System Settings → [your name] → Media & Purchases → Manage on macOS.

TRMNL integration (optional)

Ministry Goals includes an optional integration with TRMNL e-ink displays. If — and only if — you enable this in Settings and provide your own TRMNL plugin webhook URL, the app sends a small JSON summary of your selected goals (titles, progress, streaks) to that URL on your behalf. We don’t host this endpoint and we don’t see the data; it goes directly from your device to TRMNL’s servers under your account. You can disable the integration at any time in Settings, after which no further data is sent.

Children

Ministry Goals is intended for adults — typically pastors, ministry leaders, and individuals tracking personal goals. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any information from children.

Your rights and choices

Because your data lives on your device and in your own iCloud, you control it directly:

  • Delete your data: remove individual goals or activities in the app, or delete the app to remove its local data. To remove iCloud copies, go to Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → Ministry Goals → Delete Data.
  • Export your data: the app supports CSV and JSON export of any goal from the goal detail view.
  • Stop syncing: turn off iCloud for Ministry Goals at any time in iOS or macOS Settings.

If you’re a resident of a region with data-protection laws (such as the EU/UK GDPR or California’s CCPA), you have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data held about you. Because Ministry Goals doesn’t hold your data on our servers, the practical way to exercise those rights is through the device-level controls described above. If you have questions, contact us using the address below.

Changes to this policy

We’ll update this page if the app’s data practices change. Material changes will be reflected in a new effective date at the top, and — when significant — called out inside the app.
