Privacy Policy

Ancient Way is built by Steven Hovater (“we,” “us”). This policy explains what the Ancient Way app does and does not do with your information. The short version: we don’t collect your personal data, we don’t track you, and we don’t show ads.
What we collect
Nothing personal. Ancient Way has no user accounts and no sign-in. We do not collect your name, email, contacts, location, or browsing activity, and we do not use third-party analytics or advertising services.
Information that stays on your device
Your reading progress, notes, favorites, word familiarity, and vocabulary-trainer history are stored locally on your device. We do not receive or have access to this information. Deleting the app removes this data from your device.
iCloud
If you have iCloud enabled, your reading data may sync across your own Apple devices through your private iCloud account. This data is stored in your iCloud, governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy, and is not accessible to us.
Purchases
If you purchase Ancient Way Pro, the transaction is processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment information. We receive only whether your Ancient Way Pro access is active, so the app can unlock Pro features. Purchases and subscriptions are governed by Apple’s terms and privacy policy.
Content downloads
Ancient Way downloads reading content from our catalog hosted on Apple’s CloudKit. These are ordinary content requests — we are not building a profile of you, and the content delivered is the same public material for everyone. Apple may process technical request data as part of operating CloudKit, under Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Children
Ancient Way is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. We’ll post the updated version here and change the effective date above.
