Matthew 26:26-35When they had eaten, Jesus took bread and, blessing it, broke it, and giving to the disciples, he said, “Take, eat. This is my body.” And taking the cup and giving thanks he gave it to them, saying, “drink from this, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, poured out for many for sake of the forgiveness of sins. But I tell you, I will not again drink from this fruit of the vine until that day I drink it with you anew in the kingdom of my father. And after the sang a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives. Then Jesus said to them, “All of you will turn away from me in this night, for it has been written, ‘Strike the shepherd, and scatter the sheep of his flock.’ But after I have been raised, I will go ahead of you into Galilee.” But Peter, answering, said to him, “If everyone turns away from you, I will never turn away.” Jesus said to him, truly I tell you that in this night, before the rooster crows you will disown me three times. Peter said to him, “If I have to die, me with you, I will not disown you.” All the disciples talked in the same way.
